History

Detroit Mountain was a family owned alpine ski operation for over 50 years. Shortly after it closed in 2004, local community members began discussing how the mountain could be revitalized into a year round recreational facility. With this vision in mind, Detroit Mountain Recreation Area, Inc. was incorporated as a non-profit. After many discussions and research, a campaign to “Bring Back Detroit Mountain” was launched. With incredible support from the local community and beyond, Detroit Mountain is back! Look at us now! In the winter of 2014, Detroit Mountain will open its beautiful new lodge and re-designed mountain for skiing and snowboarding. The mountain features an all new terrain park, tubing hill, and cross country ski trails. In spring, summer and fall of 2015, there will be beautiful hiking trails with a special scenic outlook. Purpose-built biking trails are being professionally designed and engineered to host all level of mountain bike enthusiasts.
